2024 Gala Awards Postponed to Early 2025

Hi, I’m Greg Luck, Chair of the Business disABILITY Awards of Australia.

Today I have the difficult task of announcing that this year’s Gala Awards scheduled for the 5th of October in Toowoomba are now postponed.

The more difficult task, however, is to share why this is the case, how unexpectedly and suddenly one of our board members is receiving treatment for a life-threatening matter.

This has come as a great shock to our small and close-knit team, and together we have made a decision that our focus at this time must align with the core values of our organisation. So, we're downing tools temporarily to support one of our own, and their loved ones, through this difficult period.

The awards have gone from strength to strength since their inception in 2012 by our founders Kim Stokes, Paul Wilson, and David Wallis.  Without question our most recent awards in 2023 was our biggest event yet. The 2024 event will be even bigger just postponed.

These awards are truly unique in nature and are a critical piece to the betterment of lives for people with disability and the communities in which they live.

So, on behalf of the Board I would like to thank our incredible sponsors, partners and supporters for your continued support. There is no question that this is a postponement advice, not a cancellation announcement.

Entries will remain open as will ticket sales.

Our Event Managers are currently working with various parties to secure a date in the first quarter of calendar year 2025 for our 11th Gala Awards.

At this time, I humbly ask that you continue to encourage people to support the Business disABILITY Awards of Australia and for more information please click on the link at the bottom of your screen. [bdaa.au]

Thank you.
